SUMMARY:Stephen Cox's Myth Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Stephen Cox’s monumental sculptures\, imbued with mythic resonance\, will transform Houghton Hall this summer. \n \nHoughton Hall’s parklands and historic interiors will become a stage for Stephen Cox’s “Myth\,” a sweeping exhibition from May 4th to September 28th. \nThis unprecedented collection\, the culmination of 40 years of the acclaimed British sculptor’s global explorations\, will feature works inspired by India\, Egypt\, Italy\, and beyond. \n \nAround 20 monumental sculptures\, carved from marble and stone\, will punctuate the landscape\, while smaller\, more intimate pieces will resonate within the 18th-century State Rooms. The South wing gallery will offer insight into Cox’s creative process through works on paper\, alongside the arresting “Shrine” sculpture\, a highlight of the National Gallery’s “Encounters.” Stephen Cox\, a Royal Academician\, is renowned for his mastery of stone and his pioneering work with materials like Imperial Porphyry\, leaving an indelible mark on the world of contemporary sculpture.

SUMMARY:Cromer Carnival 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Cromer Carnival returns on the 15th August 2026 . One of the largest Carnivals in the country and culminating in Carnival day on Wednesday the 19th August. \nWelcome to the official-unofficial guide to Cromer Carnival 2026—the crown jewel of the North Norfolk coast. Whether you are a local resident or a visitor seeking that classic British seaside atmosphere\, our carnival week offers an unmissable blend of tradition\, community spirit\, and a healthy dose of coastal charm. \n\nA Week of Seaside Splendour\nFrom Saturday 15th August to Friday 21st August 2026\, the town of Cromer transforms into a vibrant hub of activity. While the town is famous for its delicious crabs and iconic pier\, Carnival Week brings a centuries-old tradition reimagined for the modern day. \nThe programme features a variety of highlights: \n\n\nThe Grand Carnival Parade: The absolute peak of the week on Wednesday 19th August\, featuring spectacular floats\, fancy dress\, and marching bands weaving through the town. \n\n\nArena Displays: High-octane stunts\, including professional motorcycle teams and traditional displays such as working sheepdogs. \n\n\nFamily Fun: Everything from sandcastle competitions on the beach to the funfair at the Runton Road carnival field. \n\n\nThe Spectacular Fireworks: Traditionally lighting up the North Sea sky on Thursday evening to signal the carnival’s grand finale. \n\n\n\nFrequently Asked Questions\nWhen exactly is Cromer Carnival 2026?\nCarnival Week runs from Saturday 15th August to Friday 21st August. The main event\, Carnival Day\, is held on Wednesday 19th August 2026. \nIs there an entry fee?\nMost of the town-wide events and the parade are free to watch\, though we strongly encourage a donation to the bucket collectors. All proceeds go toward keeping the carnival running and supporting local charities. Admission to the Carnival Field on Runton Road usually costs around £10 for adults and £8 for children or seniors\, with family tickets available. \nWhere is the best place to park?\nParking in Cromer during Carnival Week is notoriously difficult. The main Runton Road Car Park (NR27 9AU) serves as the carnival field\, so public space there is extremely limited. We recommend using: \n\n\nThe Meadow or Cadogan Road car parks. \n\n\nThe Park and Ride service located on Holt Road\, which is usually signposted from the A148. \n\n\nThe Bittern Line train from Norwich or Sheringham to avoid the traffic entirely. \n\n\nAre dogs allowed?\nWell-behaved dogs on leads are generally welcome at the carnival field and outdoor events. However\, please be aware that the parade and firework displays can be very loud and crowded\, which might be stressful for some animals. \nWill the Red Arrows be performing?\nThe Red Arrows are a beloved staple of the event. While their 2026 display schedule is usually confirmed by the RAF in early spring\, they traditionally aim to perform over the pier on Carnival Day. Check the latest news updates for the official confirmation closer to August. \nCan I join the parade?\nYes\, the more the merrier. Whether you want to enter a full float or join the walking fancy dress\, you will need to register your entry via the Cromer Voluntary Entertainments Organisation (CVEO). Registration forms and safety guidelines are available in the official programme. \n\n\nTop Tip: If you are planning to watch the parade from the town centre\, grab your spot early. The pavements fill up quickly\, and you will want a front-row view for the best experience. \n\n  \n  \nWild Luxury – The Fabulous Family Holiday on the Norfolk Coast

SUMMARY:Hunstanton Lawn Tennis Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:The 105th week-long Hunstanton Lawn Tennis Tournament commences on the 16th August 2026 and is said to be Britain’s largest event of its kind after Wimbledon\, taking place on 38 grass courts. Starting at the Hunstanton Recreation Ground on Sunday\, play will continue each day\, through to all the finals on Saturday. \n \n \nThe Hunstanton Lawn Tennis Tournament 2026 stands as one of the UK’s most significant sporting traditions. Established in 1920\, this historic event is widely regarded as the largest grass-court tournament in Britain\, second only to Wimbledon in scale. Every August\, the town’s recreation ground is transformed into a massive tennis venue featuring 38 grass courts to accommodate thousands of visitors and competitors. \nThe 2026 competition has attracted nearly 1\,000 individual players competing across 40 different events. The atmosphere is further energized by an additional 150 junior players who participate in the Gresham’s mini round-robin. Designed for under-10s and under-12s\, this popular junior event begins on the Wednesday of tournament week\, fostering the next generation of tennis talent. \nDiversity of age and skill is a hallmark of the Hunstanton tournament. The event welcomes players ranging from eight-year-old beginners to veterans in their 80s. Competitors travel from across the country and even from abroad to participate. The standard of play is equally broad\, catering to those entering their very first competitive match as well as highly skilled county-level players. \nThe tournament continues to grow with the support of dedicated partners. Three Castles Cover\, a South Wales-based firm\, has signed a three-year deal to sponsor the event\, ensuring its stability and prestige for future seasons. This partnership highlights the tournament’s importance within the national tennis community and its appeal to sponsors outside of Norfolk. \nThe Hunstanton Tennis Week 2026 takes place over seven days\, running from Sunday\, August 16th to Saturday\, August 22nd. While the event celebrated its official centenary in 2022\, its legacy continues to draw massive crowds to the Norfolk coast. For those looking to compete in this year’s historic draw\, entries for the tournament officially close on July 1\, 2026.
