SUMMARY:Blickling Classic Ibiza Evening 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Urban Soul Orchestra conducted by Stephen Hussey returns in 2025 for its 10th anniversary   of classic Ibiza anthems  on Saturday 2nd August 2025. The event will once again take place under the stars\, with live DJ and vocalists. \n​​This will be Norfolk’s biggest dance party of the Summer full of iconic Ibiza anthems. A chill-out set in the first half will be followed by a half hour interval with the DJ playing the latest Ibiza tunes. \n \n \n​​As dusk falls\, the lasers will hit the Blickling skyline as the Urban Soul Orchestra return to bring some of the best of the White Island’s dance tunes to orchestral life. Stephen is the conductor\, arranger and musical producer for Classic Ibiza\, as well as the founder and musical director of the Urban Soul Orchestra. During his 30-year career\, he has enjoyed collaborating with many of the industry’s most prestigious artists and producers\, including Nitin Sawhney\, Maxi Priest\, Robert Miles\, Full Intention\, Take That\, D-Influence\, Octave One\, Soul II Soul\, Jamiroquai\, Nightmares On Wax\, Groove Armada and The Script. \n \nStephen has released three Classic Ibiza-inspired albums\, which you can stream on Spotify and all other music platforms. The gig is split into two halves – starting with a chill-out set followed by a series of dance-floor fillers. The first set starts at 8pm and he concert is expected to finish at around 10pm. \nClassic Ibiza is a heady mix of iconic dance tunes\, a classical orchestra and a music festival in a stunning setting. Whether you want to sit back and relax with a glass of bubbly over a picnic in the evening sun\, or get up and dance the night away\, everyone is guaranteed a great time.

A week of family fun and events including a Carnival Day procession around the town featuring floats\, fancy-dress\, pull-and push-along vehicles and much more. \n \n\n\nThe 2025 Wells Carnival in Wells-next-the-Sea\, Norfolk\, will take place from Friday\, August 1st to Sunday\, August 10th. The Carnival Day and Parade will be held on Saturday\, August 9th.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTraditional seaside activities include a sand-castle competition\, town crier competition\, gillying on the Wells-next-sea quay and the crowning of the Carnival Royals. In addition you will find stalls selling everything from local delicacies to exotic street food. SUMMARY:The Blakeney Greasy Pole 2025
DESCRIPTION:Part of the Blakeney Sailing Regatta which runs over the whole weekend\, the greasy pole dates back well over a hundred years to 1873 when the prize for winning was a hog. \n \nBlakeney’s annual greasy pole challenge returns on the 30th July 2025. The day starts at 9am\, with tug of war as the tide comes in\, then swimming races\, then the greasy pole. This is then followed by rural sports day on  Saturday 2nd August at 1.45pm the gilly catching competition and then finally the sandcastle competition when the tide has gone out! Full day of family fun – all for free. \nFor the greasy pole\, competitors run or walk along a heavily-greased 30ft-long telegraph pole\, which is suspended over the seawater\, and try to reach its tip while still standing\, before plunging into the water at the pole’s far end. Anyone aged 12 or older was eligible to take part and some 50 men\, women and children had tackled the pole\, with about one in five successfully reaching the end on their feet. Although part of Blakeney Regatta festivities\, \n \nPart of the Blakeney Sailing Regatta which runs over the whole weekend\, the greasy pole dates back well over a hundred years to 1873 when the prize for winning was a hog.
