Celebrate the magic of Christmas at Holkham from the 27th November 2026 until the end of December with a Candlelight Tour of the Hall and Christmas Fair. See each stateroom beautifully adorned with sweet-scented pine trees, greenery, sparkling decorations, and twinkling lights. Each room will have its own theme and your guide will tell you all about the inspiration behind each magical setting.
Holkham Hall opens its doors to a variety of spectacular seasonal celebrations. Visitors will leave the coldness of winter at the door as they enter the magic that is Christmas at Holkham. From November to December, the privately owned 25,000 acre estate will be hosting an array of festive events against the sumptuous backdrop of the historical state rooms, beautifully adorned with decorations which can be admired by twinkling candlelight, as well as offering indulgent locally-sourced treats and gifts for all the family, making it the perfect setting for a festive winter getaway.
The Holkham Christmas Market, running from the 11th to the 13th of December, offers visitors the chance to discover the very best seasonal treasures from across the region. With over 60 local producers gathered in one festive location, the market showcases an impressive array of Norfolk’s finest food, drink, and handcrafted gifts. It serves as an ideal destination for those looking to complete their holiday shopping or find unique local treats, providing a vibrant atmosphere that celebrates the quality and craft of the local community.
Experience the magic of the season at Holkham Hall for “Holkham by Candlelight,” widely considered one of Norfolk’s most enchanting festive traditions. Your journey begins in the breathtaking Marble Hall, surrounded by dazzling decorations, before leading you through the sparkling state rooms at your own pace or via an exclusive guided tour on the 14th. With knowledgeable guides on hand to share the Hall’s secrets, this unforgettable experience runs on the 29th of November and throughout December on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 9th, 14th (guided), 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, and 23rd. Families are invited to explore Holkham Hall’s festive finery on the 19th and 20th of December for a magical, self-guided experience filled with live music and enchanting characters. Visitors can soak up the atmosphere in the Marble Hall before meeting Mother and Father Christmas and their mischievous elves—don’t forget your letters! The Holkham team will be on hand to share the stories behind the unique decorations during this 45-minute journey. Tickets are £32 for adults and £16 for children (ages 2–16, under 2s free), with complimentary parking included.
