TV adventurer Bear Grylls has announced that the UK’s ultimate family adventure festival, Gone Wild, will be coming to Holkham Park  in 2024 and it will run across four days from Thursday, August 8 until Sunday, August 11.

This new second location for the festival follows its sell-out success at Powderham Castle in Devon, which was attended by more than 10,000 people in 2023. Gone Wild has so far announced headline acts including Example, Eurovision legend Sam Ryder, Reef, Scouting for Girls, and McFly over the four-day-event.

Bear Grylls' Gone Wild Festival Norfolk Holkham

Co-founded by Bear Grylls, and former Royal Marines Officer Oli Mason, the festival will provide action-packed adventure, rewilding and live music over four days, delivering incredible experiences with over 100 activities included in the ticket price. This is a very family friendly festival that focuses on Adventure, education and music…

You can choose to watch and listen. There are inspirational talks from adventurers and experts, live music and headliners and the BMX ramp to watch for hours.

You can choose to stay clean and dry or get messy and wet! As you’d expect from a Bear Grylls festival, there are plenty of opportunities to put mud or camo on your face and run through the river or go through the sheep dip or giant water mud slide or rafting. It’s about exploring new adventures, new experiences and new limits all while having fun…

These range from archery, abseiling, survival skills, axe and spear throwing, to tree climbing, break dance workshops, foraging walks, shelter construction, raft building, rock climbing, wild swimming and SUP experiences.

Many activities are included but some like the colour run, firewall, air stunt bag and quad biking are premium (pay extra) options.

Among the must-do highlights of the festival is the commando assault course which takes participants around the estate grounds with the opportunity to get muddy on the various obstacles they meet on the way.

Providing an unforgettable and affordable escape, where families can spend time together in the great outdoors, the festival is expected to sell out quickly, with only 5,000 tickets available. With a focus on glamping, camping, getting back to nature, participating in wild adventures and challenges, including conquering the legendary Gone Wild commando course, the festival promises to be action-packed activities from day one.
