Wells-Next-Sea Carnival Week 2025

Wells Carnival Norfolk

A week of family fun and events including a Carnival Day procession around the town featuring floats, fancy-dress, pull-and push-along vehicles and much more.

Wells-next-the-Sea in the heart of North Norfolk has for over a 100 years enjoyed a traditional summer Carnival for residents and visitors. A week of family fun and events including a Carnival Day procession around the town featuring floats, fancy-dress, pull-and push-along vehicles and much more.

The 2025 Wells Carnival in Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk, will take place from Friday, August 1st to Sunday, August 10th. The Carnival Day and Parade will be held on Saturday, August 9th. 

Traditional seaside activities include a sand-castle competition, town crier competition, gillying on the Wells-next-sea quay and the crowning of the Carnival Royals. In addition you will find stalls selling everything from local delicacies to exotic street food. Carnival day & Parade Saturday will take place on August 10th.

 

What to expect
During the 10 days of Wells Carnival there are many events that welcome business or charity stalls. All types are welcome, whether informational, craft, food or services and we offer special rates to charities.

Events suitable for stalls during the week normally include:

Daytime Events
Fete Day – takes place on the 1st Sunday on the Buttlands
Food & Craft Fair – takes place on the Tuesday on the Buttlands
Carnival Day – takes place on the 2nd Saturday on the Buttlands

Evening Events
Live Music Event – takes place on the 1st Saturday on the Buttlands
Live Music Event – takes place on the 1st Sunday on the Buttlands
Screen on the Green – takes place on the Monday on the Buttlands
Live Music Event – takes place on the Friday on the Buttlands
Live Music Event – takes place on the 2nd Saturday on Buttlands
